THiNKGreen

THiNKGreen is a sustainability-focused summer program inspired by THINK Global School's Project-Based learning mindset and framework.

THiNKGreen is a 6-week guided online summer program inspired by THINK Global School's Project Based Learning Mindset and Framework. This program was designed by a TGS alumni Nada Bennani, and Abdelrahman Hafrag (myself).

Over the period, participants experienced interactive presentations once per week that investigates global environmental issues, their current proposed solutions, and how Project Based Learning can shape future sustainable solutions. Between each session, participants were assigned tasks to reflect on what they learned, related a global environmental issue to a local problem they have experienced, and chose one specific problem that they deeply investigated. Participants were also introduced to process portfolios and design thinking process to propose a solution to the problem they had chosen. All participants then had the chance to present their ideas and qualify for 1 on 1 mentorship after the end of the program. This course will be facilitated online through video meetings by Nada Bennani, Abdelrahman Hafrag, and our selected guest speakers.

We started this project from a service learning approach, where the intention was to share our methods of dealing with problem with high school students from all around the world, and also learn from their perspective and give them the opportunity to connect with us and with each other. We had over 25 participants who were selected to participate, many from different countries.
